Cake Decorating

One of my on again-off again hobbies is cake decorating.
Over the decades, I have been a member of The International Cake Exploration Societé and once served as the Virginia Representative. I am a past president and former newsletter editor/webmaster for a northern Virginia cake club, Cake & Sugar Artists of Northern Virginia (CASANOVA).   I stopped doing cakes for pay around Y2K time, because my real job kept me fairly busy. You are welcome to browse through my photos of some of my old designs though. Bunnies cake

This bunny cake (original design) was done for competition as well. The "Happy Easter" sign is made from gumpaste, while the cake covering and all the other decorations are in fondant.

The farmer family cake below (original design) was done for competition. The cake and characters are all covered in fondant. (Click on cake to see better view)

Unfortunately I don't have as much time as I'd like to dedicate to cake decorating.  Among my friends and fellow cake decorators, I was primarily known for whimsical novelty style cakes and not for any formal-style masterpieces.  If you want photos of dramatic tiered cakes, with elegant stringwork and lifelike flowers, don't browse my cake photos.
