MISIPMUD.TXT G-14 MISSISSIPPI MUD 2 cups sugar 1 1/4 tsp salt 1 cup shortening 3 tsp vanilla 4 eggs 1 cup walnuts 1 1/2 cups flour 1 pk small marshmallows 1/3 cup cocoa 1. Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs and beat. 2. Sift flour, cocoa, and salt. Add to mixture. 3. Add vanilla and nuts. 4. Spread into a greased and floured 9 X 13 baking pan, bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. 5. Remove from oven, spread marshmallows over top and return to oven, melt for about 10 minutes. ICING 1 1/2 sticks oleo, melted 1 cup nuts 1/3 cup cocoa 1 box powdered sugar 1/2 cup evaporated milk 3 tsp vanilla 6. Sift sugar and cocoa. Add oleo and mix well. 7. Add milk, vanilla, and nuts. Spread over cooled cake. FROST7.TXT 7 MINUTE FROSTING 1 1/2 cups sugar 1/2 cup water 2 egg whites 1 TBS light corn syrup (KARO) dash of salt 1 tsp vanilla 1. Mix sugar, water, egg white, corn syrup, and salt in top of double boiler (off of heat) beat about 1 minute to blend. 2. Place over the boiling water and beat constantly with electric mixer until frosting stands in stiff peaks - about 7 minutes. 3. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Beat until thick enough to spread - about 1 minute.
